Rent portal helps property owners, building caretakers, and tenants manage rooms, rent, electricity, documents, and related payments. The service is operated by Rent portal and is available on the web and as native apps distributed through the Apple App Store and other app stores.

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

• Account details such as name, email, phone number, and sign-in credentials (mobile number and password).
• Property and tenancy data you enter — buildings, rooms, occupants, rent schedules, meter readings, payments, documents, and notes.
• Payment and UPI-related details you choose to store or share (for example payee name, UPI ID, or payment proofs).
• Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, app version, and approximate activity logs needed to keep the product secure and reliable.
• Push notification tokens if you enable notifications.

We use personal information to:

• Provide and improve the portals for owners, caretakers, and tenants.
• Authenticate users, route them to the correct portal, and protect accounts.
• Send transactional messages you request (for example password resets, payment reminders, or document upload links).
• Operate guest tools such as payment links, shared receipts, and document upload pages.
• Diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information with service providers that help us run the product (for example hosting, authentication, database, storage, and push notification providers), only as needed to deliver the service. Owners may share tenancy or payment details with their tenants and caretakers through the product. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the service and its users.

We keep account and tenancy records for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. You may ask us to delete account data where applicable; some records may be retained where we must keep them.

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and row-level data isolation where supported by our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your devices protected.

You can update profile details in Account settings, disable push notifications on your device, and request access or deletion by contacting us. Guest payment and upload links are intended for the recipient and should not be forwarded widely.

Rent portal is intended for adults managing rental properties and tenancies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
